British Boxing Talents Daniel Dubios and Tommy Fury granted 212(F) waiver

212 (F) Waivers for the Two British Professional Boxers

The Oakhurst Legal Group is happy to announce that British boxing talents Daniel Dubois and Tommy Fury were granted the 212(f) waiver. This was in preparation for their appearance during the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley undercard last August 29, 2021 at the Rocket Mortgage Field House in Cleveland, Ohio.

Exemption under “National Interest”

The 212(f) waiver is granted to professional athletes from COVID-19 restricted countries who wish to travel to the United States. They are cleared to travel to the US by the OFO Coronavirus Coordination Cell, U.S. Customs and Border Protection in accordance with the National Interest Exemption from Presidential Proclamations 9984, 9992, 9993, and 9996 signed by Chad Wolf, the former Department of Homeland Security Acting Secretary.

Updates to the 212(F) Waiver Program

Under the Biden administration, the 212(F) waiver program has several changes, to wit: a. Waivers are only good for a single entry and are limited to 30 days from issuance;

b. Travelers who depart the United States and need to return must apply for a new waiver;

c. U.S. Customs now requires passenger itineraries when available to ensure travelers are observing the 30-day period; and

d. The new CDC Travel Guidelines apply to those with 212(f) waivers – all international travelers must present a negative Covid-19 test within 3 days of travel, get tested 3-5 days after travel, and self-quarantine for 7 days after travel.
