P-1A Visa for a World-Class Martial Artist

Who is eligible for a P-1A visa as a Mixed Martial Artist?

The P-1A classification applies to persons who are coming temporarily to the United States solely for the purpose of performing a specific athletic competition as:

a. Individual athlete at an internationally recognized level of performance;

b. Part of a group or team at an internationally recognized level of performance;

c. A professional athlete; or

d. An athlete or a coach, as part of a team or franchise that is located in the United States and a member of a foreign league or association.


This visa will initially allow you to work in the United States for five years if you are an individual athlete. It can be extended to another five years upon the renewal of your petition.

Valodia Aivazian, a Russian world class martial artist, has been competing professionally since 2014. He has a phenomenal track record of 10 wins and 2 losses in his 7-year MMA career. He is the only fighter in Russia with such a higher percentage of early victories by knockout, 8 wins by KO. He is nicknamed the ‘Predator’ and is also well known for winning fights ahead of schedule, finishing mostly in the first round.


Mr. Aivazian has extraordinary ability and a phenomenal track record. His P-1A Petition was supported by ample evidence that he meets the P-1A criteria above and qualifies for the non-immigrant P-1 visa.
