P1 Visa Lawyers for Professional Fighters

Oakhurst Legal Group is one of the industry leaders for professional fighters from around the world and regularly works with World Champions. However, this is the first time we are able to announce that one of our clients has marched through both the Professional Fighters League regular season and playoffs to reach the finals of the 2021 season!

The Professional Fighters League (“PFL”) is the premier season based  mixed martial arts league in the World. The PFL mma season is broadcasted on ESPN with preliminary fights often broadcasted on youtube. The PFL is a destination for new talent, as well as fighters that formerly competed with large promotions such as the UFC and Bellator. This season, we were able to obtain a P-1A for an unsigned Brazilian fighter, Raush Manfio, and work with PFL executives to let him compete on the P-1A visa we obtained.

P-1A Visas for Unsigned Mixed Martial Arts Fighters

Fighters that are unsigned and have a current P-1A visa have many rights and advantages over the directions of their careers. Most often, a fighter’s visa status is controlled by the promotion they compete with. This means if the promotion cuts them, their visa status ends as well. With the petitioner structure we used for Raush, his visa is an agent based petition that allows him to compete for multiple promotions using the same visa process. At first, the PFL wanted to change his P-1 to their company or not sign him to this season. We were able to facilitate a conversation and show our special way of petitioning for visas. As you can see, it all worked out and Raush is set to compete in the Finals of the 2021 PFL MMA Season October 27, 2021 from the Hollywood Resort & Casino live on ESPN.
